Series 400

The 400D 1.3L is powered by an EPA Tier 4 Final Compliant 3-cylinder liquid-cooled Kubota Clean Diesel engine. The engine is loaded with power and is designed with a horizontal crankshaft and a pressure lubrication system that ensures smooth, reliable performance across all applications.

The 400 Series is equipped with a robust, design-matched G2 transmission that features a 7-micron absolute filter and a CoolFan™ hydro cooling system. This G2 transmission also features a HydroGear variable displacement with 21 cc piston-pumps and high-torque Parker wheel motors.
The G2 transmission also boasts a 1,000-hour fluid change interval that reduces the need for routine maintenance.

Grasshopper extra-deep 5.5” decks are made from heavy-gauge formed steel and reinforced with an anvil leading-edge. Complete with specially designed cutting chambers to enhance airflow, our decks also contain Sentry™ spindles with 8-inch flanges anchored in a 6-bolt pattern. The formed steel spindle planes are fabricated from double-layered steel laminate and combine with the spindles to form a triple-strength deck that is nearly 1-inch thick in stress zones. Grasshopper decks are built to keep the blades level and deliver a high-quality finish every #MowDay.

Our low profile Rollover Protection System (ROPS) comes with an adjustable seatbelt, dampened steering levers that return to neutral from both forward and reverse, and interlock switches that shut down the engine immediately if the operator leaves the seat while the PTO is engaged or the steering levers are in drive position.

The 400> Series is equipped with a High Temperature Clutch Cut-Out that automatically disengages the PTO if the engine temperature reaches a certain point to prevent long-lasting damage.

Compatible with deck 61-inches and up, this add-on allows operators to raise and lower the cutting height at infinitely variable settings with a few easy switches.

Our Ultimate Operator Station is equipped with a deep-cushioned, deluxe premium high-back comfort seat that features a coil-spring suspension, padded lumbar support and armrests.The operator station is iso-mounted, eliminating vibration before it reaches the operator and both the padded seat and foldable armrests are covered in scuff-resistant, CoolTemp Cordura® fabric. Additionally, the operational controls, including the throttle, ignition, choke, and more are all well positioned for visibility and ease of reach.
The operator station is equipped with ComfortReach™ adjustable Hydra-Smooth™ dual steering levers that allow for one- or two-handed operation. The levers automatically return to natural from either forward or reverse positions.

All 400 series MidMount riding lawn mowers are constructed from robotically-welded, formed steel and built to last decades. Engineered with a centered-bearing design that provides greater load-bearing capacity, these mowers can handle the weight of the operator, fuel, and high-capacity collector with ease. The 400 series is complete with a tough-as-nails powder-coated finish that is fusion-bonded—ensuring these models will resist rust, chips, and whatever else nature throw its way.

With just 5 grease points, two Access-Eze™ lubrication points, and self-tensioning belts, our 400 Series will help simplify your maintenance routine—minimizing the cost and labor associated with your mower.

Commercial Use: 3 year unlimited hour limited warranty. First two years covering parts and labor and last two years only covering parts.
Residential Use: 4-year or 800 hours limited warranty (whichever comes first) covering parts and labor.
